Programs We Offer

Interest-Based Learning
(IBL) is a participantcentered, self-enrichment program. Wherein the exploration of each participant’s interests provides the vehicle for the
acquisition of new life and/or
vocational skills. The program provides the structure necessary to facilitate individualized personal growth driven by interest exploration. 

The Long-Term Community
Supports Program is a day program for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. This program provides organized developmental activities designed to prepare the individual to live as
independently as possible by offering a variety of specific services and activities. These include development of personal and community living skills and adult basic education. Everyone will participate in these activities based on their needs and interests outlined in their person-centered plan. 

The Day Drop-In Adult Developmental and Vocational Program is a day program for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities to assist parents, guardians, and caregivers with a backup support plan for last-minute, emergency, or occasional support. This program provides organized developmental activities designed to prepare the individual to live as independently as possible by offering a variety of specific services and activities. These include development of personal and community living skills and adult basic education. Everyone will participate in these activities based on their needs and interests outlined in their person-centered plan. 

The Day Support/Supported Employment program is for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. Based on the individual’s needs this program can be in a group setting or can be provided with one staff for the individual. This program provides organized developmental
activities designed to prepare the individual to live
as independently as possible by offering a variety
of specific services and activities. These include
paid work, development of personal and community living skills, and adult basic education. Everyone will participate in these activities based on their needs and interests outlined in their
person-centered plan.

History

The organization was started in 2008 by Valory Brown, the founding board president. Over the years, the organization has grown and developed new programs. Club Uplifted was established to provide a continuum of services for marginalized people. The mission is to Enhance, Empower and Transform the lives of marginalized people through partnership with families, organizations, communities, and government, utilizing the arts, technology, and academics to provide mentorship, vocational training, skill building, supported employment, and coaching services.

Club Uplifted Inc. is funded by community donations, grants, and workshop revenue.
